After running collegiately at William and Mary, Dave took to the roads to continue competitive running during medical school with a focus on the half and full marathon. Dave had success at these distances running PR’s of 1:09 and 2:27 during med school. With a goal of practicing sports medicine with a special focus on helping endurance athletes, he chose to do his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at UVA to train under the running medicine guru, Dr. Robert Wilder. He continued to race and train as time allowed during his first 2 years of residency, but joined RMR in the summer of 2013 with the hopes of improving his half and full marathon PR’s. When he’s not running he likes to spend time with his wife Rebecca doing activities such as hiking, camping, golfing, and walking their dog Bunker. He enjoys providing event coverage alongside Dr. Wilder at many of the local C’ville races throughout the year while also being team physician for Fluvanna Fluco’s football.
