Ward lined up in the 10,000m against an elite field that included many top foreign runners such as Olympic silver medalist Sally Kipyego and top Americans Molly Huddle, Jordan Hasay, and Kim Conley. Unphased, Ward mixed it up with the best of them and came away with a big PR, running 32:15.85 for 12th overall and 4th American. Her time bested her previous personal best and RMR club record by 24 seconds set back in 2012 at the US Olympic Trials. Her time all but guarantees her a spot at the US Championships this summer.
