Kelleher Captures Two Wins in Two Weeks

Nicole Kelleher continued her success in the REVOLUTION3 Series by bringing home two wins in two weeks. Competing in REV3 Maryland, Kelleher built momentum throughout the event, coming out of the water in fourth place, getting off the bike in second place, and breaking the tape in first in a time of 2:31:31. This race meant a lot to Kelleher as it supported the Ulman Cancer Fund, a cause that is near and dear to her heart. In the Pro Recap video below, Nicole explains how cancer has affected those close to her and why she is proud to be a part of Team Fight and the Ulman Cancer Fund.

RMR Harriers All Run Personal Bests at Chicago

Charlie Hurt, Bert Jacoby, and Thomas Adam flew to Chicago to compete in one of the biggest and most competitive races in the country, the Chicago Marathon. The weather ended up being ideal, in the 30s and low winds. As they had done all throughout their training, the trio stuck together for most of the race and worked together to hit pace. They split the half in 1:13:15, right where they wanted to be.

Adam, Jacoby, and Hurt halfway through

Around 15 miles, Adam and Hurt threw in a surge while Jacoby decided to wait a little longer to make his move. Hurt was able to keep pace and finish in a time of 2:25:54, a 52 second improvement on his previous best of 2:26:46 set back in 2010 at Twin Cities. Bert ended up running very even and ran 2:26:31, lowering his old PR of 2:27:49 by 1:18 set at the Arizona Marathon back in January. Adam, the most inexperienced runner of the three, paid the price for the mid-race surge and had a rough last 10k. Nonetheless, Thomas still PR’ed by 1:18, running 2:32:13.

It was a successful day individually as all three guys showed their fitness and ran faster than they ever had before. Along with Charlie and Bert’s college friends, Jon and Chris Healey, they also had a successful team performance as team Blitz Mountain were runners up in the team competition. Results from the race can be found below.
