Thomas Adam and Charlie Hurt traveled to Rockville, Maryland to compete in the Parks Half Marathon. While Sarah raced in tough weather conditions Saturday, the men lucked out with great weather for their race on Sunday. Due to the nice weather and the downhill start to the race, the lead pack moved hard early. Adam and Hurt both held back and made a charge late in the race.

Adam was able to go from eighth place to third in the last five miles as runners faltered from the aggressive start. Thomas’ time of 1:09:06 was a slight improvement over his previous best set at the Columbus Half Marathon back in 2010.

Hurt running fast and relaxed.

Hurt, who trained through this race, ran strong and finished ninth in a time of 1:12:30. This was the last race for both men as they now finalize their preparations for the Chicago Marathon in four weeks. Results can be found below.
