Sallie Ford traveled to George Mason University to compete in their Last Chance Meet in Fairfax, Virginia. Ford won handily, lapping the field on her way to a six second personal best (10:02.31). Results can be found below.
Results: 2012 Last Chance Meet
Seth Hutchinson and Louise Knudson toed the line as a dynamic duo at the Valentine’s Day Couples 5k in Charlottesville, Virginia. Both Hutchinson and Knudson won their respective genders, thus also leading to their couples victory. Hutchinson broke the tape in 15:36 while Knudson finished in 18:46. Results can be found below.

Mike Smayda, Lee Gabler, and Sallie Ford traveled to Lynchburg, Virginia to compete in the Liberty Quad. Sallie Ford started off the day in the mile matching her lifetime best, running 5:08.17 for second place. Gabler followed Ford’s performance with a strong performance in the mile, running 4:26.83 for 5th place. Smayda and Gabler then both raced in the 1000m, where Smayda gapped the field in the last lap, winning in 2:30.45. Gabler finished in 7th with a time of 2:38.42. Results can be found below.
Results: 2012 Liberty Quad
Donnie Cowart traveled back to the Armory to compete in the men’s open 1500m at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational held in New York, New York. Cowart was aggressive early on and sat right behind the rabbit for the first half of the race. Once the pacer stepped off the track, Donnie led the rest of the race until Brian Gagnon passed him in the final 100 meters. Cowart’s second place time of 3:41.73 bested his previous record of 3:43.56 set last year outdoors at the North Carolina A & T Meet.
