Nicole Kelleher traveled to Columbus, Ohio to compete in the Giant Eagle Triathlon this past weekend. Kelleher had the fastest bike and the second fastest run but fell just short of the win as she placed second overall, nine seconds back from winner Jenna Parker. Mike Smayda competed for his summer internship company ATK in the Marcum Workplace Challenge held in Plainview, New York. Smayda represented them well as he completed the 3.5M course in 18:40. Results can be found below.

Vicky Schandevel and Ann Mazur decided to change things up a bit a compete in a triathlon and an aquathlon this weekend. Schandevel competed in the Charlottesville Sprint Triathlon 2 in Charlottesville, Virginia at Walnut Creek Park. The fastest run split of the day propelled Schandevel to a 5th place finish overall. Mazur competed in an aquathlon held in conjunction with the Rockett’s Landing Triathlon in Richmond, Virginia. Mazur finished first overall and had the fastest swim and run. Donnie Cowart traveled across the pond to compete in the 3000m steeplechase at the Savo Games in Lepainlahti, Finland. The pace was quick and consistent from the start as the race was rabbited to guarantee a fast time. Cowart settled into 5th place right away then moved into 4th about three laps in. At this point the top three had opened up a gap so Cowart spent the rest of the race trying to pull them in. In the end Cowart was able to hold onto fourth place out leaning a surging Finnish athlete. Donnie finished in a time of 8:26.38, almost five seconds faster than his previous best of 8:31.09 set this spring at the Payton Jordan Invitational. His time was only three seconds off of the Olympic ‘A’ standard of 8:23. Cowart will stay over in Europe to rabbit a 5k on July 27th in Jeonsuu, Finland then will try and improve on his steeple time at the Lappenranta Games on August 13th. Results can be found below.

Louise Knudson competed at Abby’s Race for Hope 5K this weekend in Richmond, Virginia. Knudson placed first overall (men and women), running 18:31. Full results can be found below.

Melissa Rittenhouse traveled to Waynesboro, Virginia to compete in the Summer Extravaganza 10k. Rittenhouse won the race in 39:45, over three minutes ahead of the next women. Results can be found below.

Thomas Adam traveled back to his home state of Ohio and competed in the Firecracker Run in Stow, OH. Adam won the four mile race in 21:18, 35 seconds in front of second place. Results can be found below.
